Rochelle and Esquire Magazine: Great Minds Think Alike

As I was flipping through Esquire Magazine this weekend (I have never read it before), I noticed that David Chang, the owner of Momofuku restaurants (mentioned in my past blog entitled “Good Eats & Drinks in New York City“), is listed as one of the 75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century by Esquire Magazine.

According to Esquire:

At his three Momofuku restaurants in New York, Chang transforms known flavors–lots of pork, lots of pickles–into a new kind of American comfort cuisine that somehow seems strange and familiar at the same time. His food exploits our reference points and creates new ones. It repackages flavors we already understand and gives us a new understanding of their possibilities. :: Click here to learn more about David Chang on Esquire.com ::

THEN, while I was at Esquire.com, I clicked on their Best Bars in America list.  And guess what bar was listed under New York?  A bar that I recommended in “Good Eats & Drinks in New York City,” of course!  The Spuyten Duyvil!  Maybe I am a bit hipper than I thought…

  1. OH, and definitely bring along a nice comfy pashmina scarf. I used mine nearly every day on our travels.
